We've discussed adult and adolescent substance abuse on this program.  We've heard about help for adults coping with the substance abuse problem of a loved one. A group that is often overlooked is the children of substance abusers or the siblings of an abuser.

Henry Ford Maplegrove has a program for such children.  Betty Conger heads it up and talks with us on Substance Abuse 411 about why the program is needed and their approach to helping these vulnerable children.

bodyheader_maplegroveDo you remember the "Just say no to drugs" campaign?  What if I told you that your son or daughter also needs to say "no" to such things as nutmeg, cough medicine and even the compressed can of air you use to clean your computer!

Robin Walsh, Certified Advanced Addiction Counselor at Henry Ford Maplegrove in West Bloomfield, Michigan talks to Substance Abuse 411 about those items and much more as we discuss adolescent substance addiction.
