As we all know, substance abuse is a growing problem in America.  Prevention and education now is at the forefront of the effort to try and stop this epidemic.

Pact360 is a free and very useable program that can help individuals or even small communities educate others about substance abuse, its causes and the damage that it does to lives.

Kevin Collins is the Deputy Director of Community Education Programs for the Partnership at DrugFree.Org. He joins Substance Abuse 411 to talk about the Pact360 program and the outstanding materials and training that are available through it online.

Since that tragic day, Kim and his wife Marissa have dedicated their lives to the substance abuse cause in education, prevention and treatment.

On this Substance Abuse 411, Kim shares his story with us and how an outgrowth of that fateful day is the creation of The 24 Group and becoming Co-chair of the Parent Advisory Board of The Partnership at DrugFree.Org.

Also, a very moving and informative video was produced about the death of Kim and Marissa's son David entitled "Just your normal high school boy." Please take a moment and view it.

We are all familiar with Alcoholics Anonymous, AA, and what it does. However, what if AA doesn't work for you?

We are all different and one-size-fits-all might be fine for a cap but not for fighting alcoholism. Women for Sobriety was created as an alternative to AA for women.

Renee Franklin, a member of the Board of Directors of Women for Sobriety and a 12-year example of sobriety from its program, talks with Substance Abuse 411 about the organization and how it incorporates the psychological nature of women into its New Life Program.
